Public Notice

In accordance with the Rules of Process and Policies, Standards of Accreditation, National Council Higher Education will utilize this section of its website to provide written notice of its accreditation decisions.

NCICU’s Public Notice includes decisions to:

  • Award Initial Accreditation
  • Renew an Institution's Accreditation
  • Place an Accredited Institution on Warning
  • Place an Accredited Institution on Probation
  • Deny or Withdraw an Institution's Accreditation
  • Other Public Disclosures Deemed Appropriate

As well as a decision by an institution to voluntarily relinquish its accreditation, within 30 calendar days of the decision. The Council shall provide written notice to the public within 24 hours after a decision to place an institution on probation or to withdraw its accreditation (all appeal rights exhausted), by posting the notice on the National Council Higher Education website or other means. NCICU shall make available to the public, upon written request; a summary of a final accrediting decision to deny or terminate accreditation, together with any comments submitted by the institution no later than 60 calendar days after the decision becomes final.
